Beneath the surface of troubled lives, I have discovered ecologies of feeling as intricate as coral reefs and walked in landscapes of human experience as irreplaceable as our rainforests.
— SUSAN HOLLIDAY

I am a psychotherapist, writer and photographer. I was born in La Paz in the high Altiplano of the Bolivian Andes. My compass has always pointed down towards hidden valleys, in search of the origins and roots of life.

I studied History at Cambridge and Photography at Camberwell College of Arts in London. Following an early career in publishing and advertising, I worked for a number of years in international development with Save the Children. During this time, I witnessed the extraordinary creativity of the human spirit, our capacity to renew and reshape lives buried beneath the rubble of suffering and disaster.

Following a life-changing journey to the Himalayan kingdom of Ladakh, I retrained as a psychotherapist, graduating in my late thirties with an MA from the Institute of Psychosynthesis. Over the past two decades of private practice, I have worked with men and women from all walks of life. A passionate educator, I am also a Training Therapist with the Psychosynthesis and Education Trust and a Therapy Supervisor.

My work is increasingly informed by the emerging context of ecopsychology which explores the fundamental correlation between the despoiling of the natural world and the desolation our human nature.
